Virtual Learning

"Connecting the future, one lesson at a time."

We are certified by the Autonomous University of Nicaragua (UNAN) in Training of Trainers in Virtual Environments, in Communication in Virtual Environments, and in Learning Management System 1 and 2 Moodle.

Virtual Distance Education consists of learning mediated by the teacher using the internet, where there are no limitations of space and time. Interactivity is what enables continuous communication between teacher and student, allowing flexibility in the teaching-learning process.

Characteristics of virtual distance education:

  • Utilizes networks and resources for individual and collaborative work in electronic communication networks.
  • Makes use of a wide range of interactive communication technologies, including email, chat, simulations in multi-user environments, and video conferencing, among others.
  • There are both synchronous and asynchronous learning strategies.
  • Learning can occur independently of time and place.
  • Students can advance, backtrack, or delve deeper into information according to their own level of achievement or the nature of the learning project.
  • Through virtual simulations, students and teachers can achieve greater experimental learning.
  • The information accessed can be reworked according to the needs and inventiveness or creativity of the student. It can also be circulated in cyberspace.

Role of the teacher in virtual distance education:

  • Acts as a moderator of the virtual learning space: organizing, promoting, guiding, motivating, and facilitating learning. In short, accompanies.
  • Clarifies and resolves doubts and pedagogical, organizational, technical, and social problems that may arise in students.
  • Tracks academic progress, evaluates, and provides feedback. Promotes individual and collective reflection (collaborative learning).
  • Encourages communication between students and with themselves.
  • Fosters trust between student and institution.
  • Designs learning experiences. Facilitates strategies. Accompanies. Encourages independent study, knowledge construction, and socialization.

Role of the student in virtual distance education:

  • Students in virtual distance education must commit to themselves.
  • Motivation, interest, and discipline are essential factors for engagement and commitment; therefore, it is important to have clear and defined academic objectives.
  • To be fully aware of their limitations and strengths in specific fields and the possibilities they have for self-improvement.
  • To be aware of what they need to learn.
  • Develop strategies, techniques, study methods, and use technological support.
  • Develop thinking skills and project themselves as entrepreneurs. Emphasize autonomous learning. Self-regulate their learning.

Autonomous Learning:

To make autonomous learning possible, it is important for students to develop study habits: concentration, discipline, information search. Reading comprehension skills. The ability to search for necessary information when encountering unfamiliar topics or desiring further exploration. Selecting important and meaningful information for the purposes they aim to achieve. Analyzing information with an interpretative, propositional, critical, analytical, and argumentative spirit.

Learning to educate oneself:

This involves deploying a variety of activities to learn to self-regulate one's learning process. The student manages, controls, evaluates, and establishes improvement plans to guide their own learning according to their purposes. Learning to interact with peers and society.

This means learning to share experiences, customs, beliefs, and values. It is a form of socio-cultural, intellectual, and moral coexistence. Learning becomes relevant when considering the contribution and change of knowledge promoted in the group. Students who work collaboratively are guaranteed 50% of learning in higher education.
